Author Spotlight Debbie White 1. Why do you write? I have an over active imagination. I used to talk to myself, now I just write it all down. 2. Name two mentors who influenced your writing. A college professor whose name escapes me at the moment, and my mother. 3. Name 5 writers you recommend. I have many favorite authors. Too many to list. I would like to give kudos to a few indie authors however, Bethany Turner, Diane Harmon, and Deborah Garner. I also love Nicholas Sparks. 4. What do you like to do when you’re not writing? Spend time with family, travel, and gardening. 5. Describe your writing process. (Outline? Mind map?) Outline on a white board. 6. Which character is most like you? I put a little of me in all of my characters. Jessica loves to travel, Libby is a free spirt and wonderful entrepreneur, and Vanessa loves to rescue animals. 7. Are you working on a new book? What is it? I’m currently up to my neck in projects, but loving every minute of it. I have a new book coming out on the 15th of October, and I’m collaborating with several authors on two short story projects. One will be out in time for the holidays, and the other one is for Valentine’s Day. In addition, I’m writing a full length novel for a future release. 8. What does your writing space look like? Crowded! I share space with hubby. 9. Give some of your best pieces of advice for writers. Never give up. Like a fine wine, writing improves with age and experience. The more you write, the better you’ll get. Don’t forget the marketing aspect of writing. It can get old, but it’s a must. Author Bio: I write easy to read romance, and inspirational women’s fiction that are great for taking to the beach, reading while traveling, or to help relax after a long busy day. My books feature strong and independent women, who in the midst of finding themselves sometimes endure tragedy, but will always work toward finding happiness. That’s what real life is about – never giving up; even in times of doubt. My books are about real...

An Interview with Maggie David

An Interview with Maggie David

An Interview with Maggie David Where are you from? Originally born in Hampshire, UK, I came to live in Australia with my Mum and Dad when I was 15. I now live in God Own Country which is the Hawkesbury Area of NSW. When did you know you wanted to be a writer? When I was a child.  I loved reading and loved words.  You could always find me curled up along side my Darling Dad, me with my book and Dad with his.  We would read for hours! Do you have another job, or are you a full time writer? I am a writer, whether it be my books or blog posts for my various websites. What inspires you? Nature really inspires me.  I feel so connected to nature.  I live 1/2 way up a mountain with fabulous 270 degree views.  I have a very large property with huge trees, lovely gardens, and lots of birds and wildlife. I see and feel the moods of the mountain, the weather and mother nature herself.  At night I go and sit on a seat in a very high point in my house garden and look at the stars above which are so clear its breath taking, awe inspiring and you can feel the energy of life itself. My dogs also inspire me, all are rescue dogs saved from the kill list, some with only minutes to spare, all have suffered the worst abuse. (I only take the WORST abused dogs). I work with them and you can see each day a little more transformation, a little more wholeness shining through.  It takes courage for them to become whole and trust again, but they LOVE, they are PURE LOVE.  This inspires me so much.  I write about them in my Children’s book Series, the Adventures of Popsie and Friends.  These stories are true life stories and any monies from them go to our local animal shelter where I saved them from, to help save others. Who is your greatest supporter? My Life Partner and Husband Lyndsay. Do you have to do much research for your books? NO I don’t,  but please let me explain.  EVERY non-fiction book I write, I am...

Quick Fire Q&A with Maggie David

Quick Fire Q&A with Maggie David Coffee or tea?  Green tea  What do you listen to while writing?Focus music on YouTube  Favorite place to travel?Whitsundays – Australia  Favorite TV show or movie?Mrs. Browns Boys TV Series If you could meet any celebrity or historical figure, who would it be?Sir Richard Branson From a tiny child I have always loved books. I can remember back to when I was about 5 and sitting with my Dad(who was an avid reader) at the table reading my books. Books opened my eyes and made me realize that words were “Special”. They can bring joy, bring sadness, bring smiles, bring frowns and tell stories. The words in one book, can conjure up images of characters, which can be different for each person reading, words to me are awe inspiring. As I grew up writing became one of my passions, and still is to this day. My childhood was rich with wonderful experiences of playing in woodlands and fields in England with my cousins surrounded by my dogs and being taught by my Grandad who was a Master Baker and Grannie how to grow foods, raise animals, produce jams, pickles and cakes that melt in your mouth. I have been a lifetime student gaining many, many qualifications in several fields of expertise, this knowledge plus my childhood memories and lessons have enriched my writing as I can share with others those memories, my knowledge and my stories. I adore telling stories to children about my 4 dogs, especially one “Popsie” a little mischief maker, and these have been brought to life in “The Adventures of Popsie and Friends” book series which can be found in the Kindle Store. I own the following business Oils Of the Earth Pty Ltd. Plus have many successful websites.
