Going Wide. Epic Fail or Amazing Results?
| It has been another amazing year. As an author and a service provider to fellow authors, I’ve definitely learned a lot in terms of writing, packaging, and marketing. |
This year, I took the leap and left Kindle Unlimited with half of my book catalogue. It was a great experience, and I had the opportunity to try new methods for marketing my books, and those of clients who are also wide distribution. I learned that it isn’t as scary as I thought it would be. It takes constant work, lots of ads, and perseverance.
iBooks was just as powerful as Amazon Kindle Unlimited, but that was mostly for my urban fantasy and epic fantasy books. It didn’t work as well for other genres. But, that’s just from my experience. It isn’t to say it won’t work for others. I did get a few exclusive promos with iBooks, and also had a few with Kobo, that were good for boxed sets, and deeply discounted first-in-series. I’ll be following up and posting more on this on the blog.
So, get out there and don’t be afraid to try new things! You might be surprised. 😉
